- Truly the best browser currently. Much safer that Internet Explorer and much more customizable. The language of the internet is "html". The pages, such as this one, displayed in your browser are written in html. Firefox adheres to the html standard more closely than Internet Explorer, AOL, and MSN. This means that web pages display as they should be, not how Microsoft wants them to be.

Thunderbird - a good free email program. Thunderbird has a nice spam filter. It takes some time and user input to "train" the filter though.

Bookmark Backup extension - backs up your Firefox bookmarks daily.

BounceBully - Bounce spam messages back to the spammers who sent them.

Customize Google extension - customizes the look and results of Google searches.

CuteMenus - adds icons to the Firefox menus.

Download Manager Tweak extension - customize the file download behavior.

FasterFox extension - changes hidden settings in Firefox to speed browsing.

Firefox Extension Backup Extension - an extension to create backups of all Firefox extensions and settings.

Firetune - free program to speed up browsing with Firefox.

First Page 2006 - a free WYSIWYG web editor. My favorite free editor.

ForecastFox extension - displays live radar and weather info inside the Firefox browser.

Foxmarks - If you use Firefox this extension is a must. If you don't use Firefox this extension is the reason to switch! Access your bookmarks from anywhere, sync bookmarks between computers, and backup bookmarks. -Requires Firefox

Gmail Space extension - allows you to use your Gmail account as a remote hard drive.

Google Browser Sync extension - automatically syncs your bookmarks between multiple Firefox browsers.

GreatNews - a free RSS feed reader.

IE PassView - a small utility that reveals passwords stored by Internet Explorer. Also allows you to delete those entries. A good way to show the vulnerability of Internet Explorer.

IE Tab extension - allows Firefox to open Internet Explorer within a Firefox tab. Great for sites that require Internet Explorer to display properly.

Image Zoom extension - allows you to zoom pictures displayed in Firefox.

IPNetInfo - a great little program. Enter a web address or IP address and find the owner.

McAfee Site Advisor - a great program that checks websites, as you visit them, and indicates whether the site is safe (green), questionable (yellow), dangerous (red), or untested (grey). The program integrates into your browser and shows the sites reputation in a browser toolbar. Site Advisor is a reputable program that I highly recommend. - IE/FireFox

MozBackup - an extension to backup all Firefox and Thunderbird settings.

NoteFish extension - a great tool for researching purchases, travel, or simply saving parts of webpages.

NVU - a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) web page editor. Similar to MS Frontpage.

Nuke Anything extension - allows you to hide parts of webpages you don't want to see.

Roboform - This program is the next best thing since sliced bread in my book! This program integrates into Internet Explorer and firefox. Roboform in IE and FireFox works like a super powered bookmark. You click the site you want to go to and Roboform opens the site, enters your username and password for the site (if required) and as if by magic clicks the submit button. If you shop online Roboform can enter your personal information and credit card information, which is also stored in a secure encrypted file, in one click. A real time saver with great security thrown in to boot! 30 day trial after which it's restricted to 10 passcards (logins).

SpamAware - a free addon for Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. SpamAware uses SpamAssassin to score email and perform the selected actions.

Tab Mix Plus extension - allows you to customize the behavior of tabs in Firefox.

Trillian - a free replacement for AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo messenger. One program that does them all. It's small, well written, and convenient.

Update Notifier extension - automatically checks for browser and extension updates.

VideoDownloader extension - allows you to save videos from sites like yahoo and you tube.
